Our day at the ARC

We have a recreation center (The ARC) across the street from us, which is really convenient for Andrew and I to go exercise. Normally they only allow kids on Saturday's and you have to pay for them, but last week was family day and we were able to take the kids swimming for free which was perfect because it was really hot that day. The boys had a blast and have been asking to go back ever since.

Andrew's new favorite thing is rock climbing, he would go every day if he could. He just bought new rock climbing shoes and a harness, so now he goes even more and he loves it.

Carter was also able to go rock climbing for the first time. We thought he would love it since he is like a little monkey and climbs on everything. He was thrilled to go but got a little intimidated by the huge wall when we got there and didn't dare climb too high.

What sort of place only lets kids come on Saturday...it certainly doesn't sound like the happiest place on earth.
Rock climbing looks fun!

It's the University Rec Center, so not really kid oriented. Which is kind of a bummer.

Hey, small world, I just found your blog! I agree about the ARC, it's too bad they only let the kids in on weekends. You're always welcome to come to my parents' clubhouse pool with us this summer! They're having a huge community cookout at the pool on May 17th, $1 BBQ fare (really good hamburgers and hot dogs, unlimited for $1 per person) and lots of swimming and kids! We go every year, we'd love to have you guys join us! It's only a 10-15 minute drive to their place. TTYL! Good seeing you here! ~Amber

Thanks! I'm learning! :-) I had planned on making it a site about the kids, but then the more I typed I realized it was a wonderful way to journal everything!

By the way, did you want to come over to go through the clothes tomorrow or I can drop them off there? It is a lot, 3 big bags and a box full. Let me know!

P.S. Do you know about the free preschool through OC Early Start program (ages 0-5) in Irvine?
